Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska embarked on a collaborative research mission, resulting in microencapsulation – “water balloons” of calcium, phosphate and fluoride ions that can re-mineralize teeth, creating enamel and preventing tooth decay.
It serves as the basis of a dental-care innovation known as SmartCap™, and is incorporated into Premier’s newly released dental sealant, BioCoat™.
